Unique Invitations by Magnifique Photography

(Click on photo to see it enlarged)

These double sided custom invitatations were created by Terra Cooper at Magnifique Photography. The theme of the wedding is an Alice in Wonderland theme. The tree designed by Terra was a mixture of two pictures that the bride had sent her of what she wanted and then Terra came up with a custom design for their invitation, making it one of a kind. The bride and groom wanted very colorful, fun pictures, and I think that Terra totally got it right. They are such unique fun pictures and invitations that stand out and will be remembered by their guests.

Visit Terra's website at www.magnifiquephotography.com and contact her today. You can get 500 double sided invitations with colored envelopes starting at only $300!

Catering made easy

Smelling the fresh baked bread as the guests entered into the hall. This Tuscan theme had it all. Fresh fruit to authentic Tuscan desserts the brides mother baked everything for their guests. Simple catering is easy. It takes planning and creativity. The guests were pleasantly surprised with this reception. Smells add power to your event. Fresh foods and home baked foods make you feel at "home". Take the time to plan out what it is you desire. You can do it.

Stand out from all of the rest

Thanks to a very creative friend Charin Bird this wedding for her daughter was remarkable. I was in awe at how they incorporated their Japanese heritage, memorabilia and style. From the food to the servers this wedding was fun. Their creative spirit made this wedding stand out from all of the rest of the weddings for quite some time. Shara's bold red cake made a statement for all to see. Beautiful! This is an example of how using your style and imagination madea wedding reception memorible.

Seasonal Decorations

When I am designing a wedding, I try to decorate and create around the bride, her personality and style. We had allot of fun creating a winter wedding. Pine trees can be so beautiful to decorate with.. Crystals and Gerber flowers were one of my favorite props to work with. Simple decorations make for a beautiful event.

Some of my favorite weddings are the ones that have a specific theme. Megan had a Tuscan theme in mind. She was certain that she would be happy with what she wanted so we decorated her reception with a Tuscan, romantic theme. We even had bread cooking in the oven so that her guests would walk into the building and smell the delicious smell of hot bread cooking. It was a great reception.

Doughnuts

We served Doughnuts and hot chocolate for Ashley's wedding reception food. She also had sweedish fish, M&M's and mixed nuts. The guests really liked the fact that it was so simple yet fun. Thanks AShley for the creative spirit.

It's the simple look

Decorating a wedding in an old train station was fun. In planning this wedding I wanted to make sure I kept it real simple, natural. The lines on the floor and ceiling were an important part of designing this look. I wanted to compliment the room not gob it up. People who are decorating sometimes try to make it really full and crowded.
To me it makes the room look messy. Crisp and clean works great for places such as this one. Make it simple, you will be pleased at how it turns out.

Pink Delight

I have the best time decorating with pink. Every bride it seems can wear this elegant color. Designing wedding decorations is easy with shades of pink. I highly recommend pink in your wedding. It is a great color, looks good on almost anyone and it is romantic. Happy wedding plans:)

DO-IT-YOURSELF CATERING

Choosing your catering food to do yourself can seem scary. No fear, there are many ways to cater your wedding. Make it simple, create a look of expense and have fun. Kathy the mother of the bride cooked all of this food herself and we presented it. We created an atmosphere of Tuscan food. Kathy and her husband had recently come back from Italy so it made sense to have a Tuscan wedding for her daughter.
She bought an Italian cook book, choose simple desserts and this is the look she had me create. Simple, easy and inexpensive. Take time to think things through when it comes to one of the most expensive items on your budget. Plan wisely and always be creative in what you are trying to create.
The biggest thing that impressed the guests is Kathy baked biscotti bread the church smelled like an Italian restaurant. What a cool event it was.

Looking for a great photographer

If there is any advice that I can give it is this....don't scrimp on a good photographer. I have decorated many weddings during my professional career. I have seen so many things but the one thing that I have come across time and time again is poor photography. Now I know that some budgets don't have a huge portion for photography but using Joe blow from work or a friend of a friend just isn't going to cut it.
A great photographer can capture the essence of a wedding. Some of the best pictures I have seen by photographers are of weddings that don't have allot of "decorations" they have style. A great photographer captures that feeling on film. If you possibly can budget for photography, don't leave your most important day to someone who does an o.k. job. I promise if you shop around there are great photographers who are affordable as well as give you your moneys worth.
Cut back on some of the things that don't really matter like extra decorations or catering, you can do it just budget and keep looking.

WEDDING FLOWERS TO MATCH YOUR THEME

Here is a perfect example of matching flowers to the theme of the wedding. Megan decided on a Tuscan theme, so in choosing the flowers we went with colors that were complimentary to a Tuscan feel. Gold, cream, rust, straw yellow, muted greens, as well as simple Calla Lillie's. This wedding went off without a glitch. Everything matched and the smells of a Tuscan buffet made the evening great.

BOUQUETS

Designing a bouquet to fit your personality is essential for great pictures. Creating a bouquet that has your favorite flowers, colors and your style will satisfy your desires to have a beautiful bouquet. Letting others influence you on your decision eventually will create feelings in the future. Many brides will give in to pressure from family members who's desires are of their own ideas and not the brides. Giving in to others will make you regret not doing what you had originally desired to do. Don't give in , stand your ground and create a bouquet that is you.

Love, Romance in winter

Winter is quickly approaching a really exciting time for weddings. Engagement photos in the winter time are so romantic. Unusual views make for great photography. Use mother nature as your background, you will be surprised at what you will see when you review your photo session.
Happy Holidays!!!!

Dramatic as it might seem to some brides, color really adds an exciting element to your dress. Looking at dresses they all seem the same ..white.
White is great just the same old same old, try to add some color either with a slip like what is in the picture or a beautiful sash. You will not regret it.

Simple Decorations

Kim made a decision early that her wedding day would be simple. She was sure about her colors. As you can tell they were fall colors. The Commanders House at the University of Utah made her wedding day dreams come true. Simple, yet the entire building decorated with fall leaves, twigs and color.
The reception was wonderful, and the experience she had planning a simple wedding made all the difference. She as well as the groom were excited to be married. They were not worried about impressing the neighbors.
I recommend to all brides make things simple.
The more complex you make the wedding itself the more stress you create. Less is more.

Capture the moment

This picture captures the very essence of a wedding. What pulls at your heart strings than a father embracing his daughter. I am sure he is seeing her growing up all over again as he dances with her for the last time as his little girl. Picking the right photographer is what I consider #2 on my budget list. Skimping on a photographer is like throwing away memories that are so precious. Hire someone who really knows their stuff.
relatives are fine to take candid shots of family, friends and guests that only your parents know.
Budget in a good amount for the photographer, you won't regret it.

Wedding Cake Designs

One of my favorite things about a wedding is the cakes. I love to decorate them with fresh flowers, ribbons, and trinkets provided by the bride. Making your cake simple creates elegance. Wedding cakes should be beautiful, complimentary to your decorations, and taste great!
Cakes cost lets face it, seek out cake decorators that love what they do and you will receive a wonderful addition to your wedding day.

Invitations

Computers are such a wonderful tool . We now have the capability to create the most beautiful invitations for our wedding. Terra Park my photographer from Magnifique Photography designed this invitation. It is simple yet I find it elegant, romantic with a touch of spunk. There are many programs you can buy at many stores (big chain stores), If you are not computer savvy, most printing companies, photographers as well as graphic artists can create a look all your own. Gone are the days of boring invites. Get creative, use your ideas for your wedding to incorporate into your invitations.

Bridal Photo Sessions

Choosing a photographer in my opinion is one of the most important people you can hire. They capture the the very mood of your event. When you leave the responsibility of pictures to just anybody that's just what you will get (anything) random shots of whatever looks good at the time. Now I am not saying that you can 't have someone you know do pictures for you. Make sure that they know something about photography, you just might find yourself looking at pictures that are really, really, bad. I have reviewed so many pictures by "friends & family" who volunteered to take pictures and to be frank they were awful.
Plan in your budget a good portion for a photographer. It will be well worth the money. You will probably need to cut back on other things like decorations, catering as well as invitations. It will be worth the money.

TAKE YOUR TIME.

Having time to plan your wedding is something most brides find themselves lacking . Between all that is expected of the new bride to be, sometimes feelings of being overwhelmed can take over and panic sets in. Trying to find time really gets harder and harder, so give yourself plenty of time to plan. I know to some, long engagements are hard to do. But financially speaking, it might be better to wait a little longer if you can handle a longer engagement. It can be beneficial not only to you, but to everyone else involved.
Make a list of the your most favorite times of year to be married. When you have determined the time of year, and depending on when you get engaged, that's how much time you will have to plan. My advice is to give yourself six months to plan a great event.
One thing to remember; the quicker you get married, the more you will compromise on what you can afford for your wedding. Try to not rush this special event and give yourself time to enjoy this fun and exciting time in your life.
